The Mayor's Youth Committee is underway with PLANS PLANS PLANS for the youth residing in Riverdale, Illinois. A group of dedicated and committed citizens have been meeting twice monthly at City Hall to formulate and place into ACTION a series of SOLUTIONS to some of the annoyances the city has been facing. (See July-August Newsletter)
The Mayor's Youth Committee has emerged ever since Mayor Zenovia Evans called for "WHAT CAN WE DO" brainstorming sessions in July of this year. Resident, Rod Chaney has led the group as Chairman, while Dee Waddell, Community Development Coordinator oversees and reports to the Mayor. The small beginning has enlarged and has gathered interest of many youth as various activities have taken place. The Committee, which meets the second and fourth Monday of each month will welcome new volunteers who have a passion for the youth.
